If you’ve been reading Nephriticus for a while, you’ll know that YÜLI is one of my favorite brands. Yun, one of the co-founders of YÜLI who formulates the products, is super qualified and experienced. The products have so much great research behind them. I respect the one year (or two) wait for Ambrosia Beauty Nectar or Harmony Body Oil being out of stock due to ingredient restrictions, because I think it says so much about their integrity and dedication to serious quality in their craft.
I’ll reign in the fangirling, so here are the details. If your order is $200 and under, you get 10% off with code HOLIDAY10. If your order is above $200, you get 15% off with code HOLIDAY15. In addition, make sure to request a sample of Ambrosia for any order over $150. Good news: the travel-sized version of Halcyon is back as well as Harmony. If you’re ready to shop and have your wishlist ready, head on over here.
But, if you’re not sure what to get or need some tie-breaking, allow me to make some suggestions.

Remember a couple posts back when I dropped by Washington for an internship interview (and a cheeky facial at Gressa Skin)? Well, I got to go back for the entire summer–the coldest summer I have ever experienced (I am a California girl after all).
Since my last trip was a rather whirlwind one, I wasn’t able to visit all the places I wanted to. So this time I booked a facial for myself with Jordan Samuel Skin weeks before I even arrived in the sleepless city.
I’m a hairy girl. When I was in middle school, my friend drew a stick figure on my arm saying, “Help! I’m in a forest!” -_-
For years I shaved my pits and legs with a Gillette Venus razor from the drugstore, with moisturizing strips and three or even five blades. When I went green, I switched my shaving cream from Skintimate Shaving Gel to my Acure Organics conditioner or just straight jojoba oil from Desert Essence. Occasionally I would get nicks and cuts and ingrown hairs, I would sometimes get smooth shaves and sometimes not depending on how much time I took, but the duo did the job and I was much more interested in facial oils over luxuriating my shaving experience. If you’ve been around and about Nephriticus, you may have read about my great coconut oil breakout of 2012 and my road to recovery (thank you YÜLI Cell Perfecto PM). You’ve probably seen me mention the rms ‘un’ cover-up and Kjaer Weis foundation, two well-loved foundations in #greenbeauty with lots of coconut oil, from time to time but never in full-out posts.
I really thought coconut oil was an enemy of my skin for some time, despite its vast array of antibacterial, antifungal, anti-all the things properties. I sometimes tend to break out easily in response to stress, diet, germs, etc. and in the past, not having coconut oil in my life did less harm than having coconut oil in my life. It’s that time of the year again–I’ve finished classes (and grad school, yay!) and I have to move out of my apartment, so I wanted to film a video on my empties before I recycled them. Some loves, lots of mehs, and finally it’s a video under 25 minutes…Hope you enjoy! Check it out on YouTube for the full info section. xx
How in the world this happened I have no clue, but I was editing a new video when I found this (fully edited) video that I filmed last summer about the expired skincare and bodycare in my arsenal. Better late than never, I suppose. It’s a long one (as usual), I talk about why I couldn’t finish products (or why I didn’t want to finish them), and I hope you enjoy! Check it out on YouTube for the full info section. xx

What’s the easiest way to look like you’ve been on holiday? Slapping on some bronzer. If you don’t have time to get away to get a tan, just fake one.
I’ve tried and swatched four cream bronzers from Vapour, W3ll People, rms beauty, and Ilia. Some have been in and out of my collection for years, and some are fairly new to me.
